Course Overview :
The B.Voc in Operation Theatre Technology is a specialized undergraduate program designed to train students in the essential skills required to manage and operate in surgical and emergency settings. This three-year program combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to prepare students for a critical role in the healthcare system. The curriculum focuses on the management of operation theatres, patient care during surgery, sterilization techniques, surgical instrument handling, and assisting surgeons and anesthetists during medical procedures. Students are also trained in pre-operative and post-operative care, infection control, and emergency response, ensuring they are well-prepared to handle high-stress situations with precision and efficiency
The program emphasizes hands-on training through laboratory sessions, simulation exercises, and internships in hospitals and surgical centers. This practical exposure helps students develop technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a surgical team. The course also covers subjects like human anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical ethics to provide a comprehensive understanding of the human body and surgical procedures. Communication and teamwork are also key components of the training, ensuring that graduates are capable of managing complex surgical environments.
